The Process

We'll spend time getting to know each other and your goals, history, preferences, priorities, etc. You'll take an in-depth life area assessment to see where the major imbalances are and you'll decide which modalities you are interested in incorporating. Depending upon where you are, we may either dive right into working on your goals, or you may have 'homework' that will get you to really look closely at where you'd like to be and what you are most passionate about doing to get there
We'll meet every other week to sit down and check your progress. We'll look at barriers to completing the habits you aim to establish and figure out how to minimize or even remove them. We'll celebrate your victories and if you are ready, take the next step on your journey with a new or modified goal that is more closely aligned with where you ultimately want to be. We may work on things like introducing new forms of physical activity, meal plans/recipes, journal prompts for self-discovery, or whatever else will aid us in bringing you closer to a state of balance
Exploration of Modalities
As we change, grow, and learn, we discovery new interests and techniques to help us along our way. Throughout our follow-ups, you'll be able to try different modalities such as Tarot, Reiki, crystals, sound healing, etc. These are never mandatory but can be a useful way to calm and channel our energies and thoughts in ways that are conducive to the healing process
Checkpoints
Throughout the process, we'll have checkpoints along the way to see where are you in relation to your end goal. This is where we really evaluate what is and isn't working. We can put more effort towards a goal or try a different technique if something isn't working. It's possible to switch goals altogether based on what you've learned about yourself up to that point. Either way, this journey is YOURS and YOU are in control.
Finish Line
Let's face it, we'll never stop growing or learning but depending upon what you decide at the beginning, our journey together might have an end point. We'll evaluate if you met or surpassed your goals, retake the life area assessment to see how everything has changed, and decide if you'd like to continue on your journey together. This is a time for celebration no matter what because you''ll have spent the past several months working towards the highest version of yourself!

Any progress, no matter how small, is still a step up the mountain of realization and it all starts with one little thing

Frequently Asked Questions

This is dependent upon your needs, goals, and wishes. Some might just need guidance for a few months while others will go for a year or longer. This is something we’ll discuss during our icebreaker chat

I believe that while I can educate you and fill in knowledge gaps, it’s ultimately you who knows yourself better than anyone. I rely on techniques like motivational interviewing, appreciative inquiry, and the transtheoretical model to help you discover more about yourself and the direction in which you want to move.

Absolutely not! I understand that it’s something unfamiliar and considered a bit ‘woo-woo’. Some people love that and others don’t. It’s something I offer to complement my coaching because I feel it offers multiple avenues for people to grow and learn about themselves. It’s definitely not required if you just aren’t into it.

Coaching has become a big, broad, and highly unregulated term. Anyone can call themselves a coach and let’s face it, it’s a trendy thing right now. The education and experience required is minimal and I’ve seen some sketchy ‘certificates’ created with no real clout.

This is why the National Board of Medical Examiners (yes – the same one doctors have to go through) decided that there needed to be some standards. The National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching was created for that purpose. They have outlined standards, competencies, and ethics for coaches to provide a credential that actually means something.

As such, I have fulfilled 2/3 of the requirements to become board certified. I’ve completed an accredited program and conducted 50+ sessions. All that’s left is to take the exam (which only happens 3 times per year). After I pass that, I’ll be an NBC-HWC.

Furthermore, many coaches boast that they are holistic but often avoid certain life areas like finances, environment, relationships, and spirituality. Everything is so interconnected that I recognize the need for these to be in balance as well. I don’t shy away from coaching you in these areas so that you can find balance in all parts of your life.
