Wild Ginger Wellness

I’m going to admit that I’m a blog junkie. Every morning I check my Feedly to see what’s new in a bunch of topics including those that are a fundamental part of my identity like nutrition, wellness, mental health, and spirituality. I’m going to share the top blogs that I read every day in the health and wellness area that really changed my life for the better.

MindBodyGreen

This is a great site that covers a ton of different topics. Their articles, if not written by an expert, are reviewed by one for accuracy and they provide their sources for their facts. There is information for people from all walks of life as well as all ages.

I love how there is something new and different in all different topics to read about and it gives me some insight into what is trending in the world of health and wellness. One word of caution is that many of their articles that deal with supplements and nutrients almost always encourage you to purchase their own branded products.

The Art of Healthy Living

This is another great collaborative website that covers topics in the realm of beauty, food, fitness, health, and wellbeing. It features posts by different authors from different backgrounds. It’s not as extensive as MindBodyGreen, but it offers articles in much the same light.

One of the downsides to these articles is that they aren’t necessarily written by authors with verifiable credentials. However, these articles are still great as a springboard to give you something to think about. From there, it’s up to you to verify the information sources and concepts that they are presenting.

Many of the articles are interesting and casual enough to not warrant deep research, such as this article on the upcoming fitness trends for 2024, because it’s something to inspire and motivate rather than provide scientific information.

Nutrition Stripped

I’m a bit of a stickler when it comes to reading articles that are related to nutrition. There’s so much misinformation out there that you really have to be mindful of who it’s coming from. I will rarely not support a fellow Dietitian, which is why I really like Nutrition Stripped.

Created by someone with the same credentials as myself, I can trust her to provide evidence based information without trying to sell any weird supplements or trendy fad diets.

I love that her method is based in mindfulness and connecting to your body. This article, for example, discusses how undereating can manifest in our bodies since very-low calorie intake can be a problem without even realizing it.

Daily OM

If you haven’t noticed, I appreciate blogs and sites that offer articles on multiple facets of health. Daily Om is no different! They offer insights into health and wellness including nutrition and fitness but they also delve into the realms of self development, metaphysics, and spirituality.

For example, I love this article about ‘bed-rotting’, which I didn’t even know was a term and it’s implications on mental health. It might not seem super relevant to some, but learning about all the little facets of self-care and self-development along with how to differentiate habits that will either help us along our journey vs those that will keep us stagnant are huge parts of health!

Tiny Buddha

With a tagline of “simple wisdom for complex lives”, Tiny Buddha has made it onto my favorites list because I rarely miss their articles. They don’t offer as many diverse topics as some of the other sites listed because they keep their focus on mindfulness, happiness, relationships, and self-love.

This is a great site for those looking for the stories of those who learned hard lessons and have come out of them a happier and healthier person. These insights are presented in a way that makes them relatable instead of from a theoretical standpoint. Whether it’s about development self-love, healing from traumas, or establishing boundaries, these articles are insightful and leaves you thinking about their lessons.

Conclusion

As you can see, my favorite blogs of 2023 are ones that inspire, motivate, and educate me in the same areas that I deal in. These blogs offer wisdom on topics like nutrition, fitness, personal development, and spirituality. I love knowing what’s up and coming in the world of all of these, and these sites do a great job of rounding up those topics!

Do you have any blogs that you recommend? I’m always looking to add to my reading list! Leave a comment below with what you think should make my list for next year!
